Ikinalugod ng isang dating kongresista ang pagbasura ng Commission on Appointments (CA) sa ad interim appointment ni ex-TESDA chief Suharto ‘Teng’ Mangudadatu bilang Army colonel reservist.
Pahayag ni dating Gov. Esmael ‘Toto’ Mangudadatu, ngayo’y isang peace advocate sa BARMM, ang pagbasura ng CA sa pagtalaga kay Teng bilang colonel reservist sa Armed Forces of the Philippines ay makatuwiran.
Tinukoy ni Toto, 3rd degree cousin ni Teng, ang mga pagkakataon sa track record ng umano’y mga pang-aabuso ng kanyang pinsan.
“Ang daming reservist na nandito sa amin na nagagamit ni Teng. Libo ang reservist nila. Pinadadala ng mga baril, akala ng mga tao sundalo lahat, zero IB pala ang mga yun,” pagsisiwalat ni Toto, na dati ring Maguindanao governor.
“Mayroon silang mga private cars na kulay green. Doon nakasakay lahat ng private armed groups nila, at tinatakot nila lahat na ipakukulong,” dagdag pa niya.
Isiniwalat din ni Toto ang umano’y ginagawang pang-aabuso ni Teng sa pangalan ng Philippine Army sa kanyang political antics sa Bangsamoro region kahit hindi siya bahagi ng BARMM.
“Magandang balita ang naging desisyon na hindi bigyan ng titulong army colonel reservist si Teng dahil malamang ay abusuhin niya lamang ito at mabigyan siya ng lisensiya na magpatuloy sa kaniyang harassment sa mga kalaban niya sa BARMM,” ani Toto.
“‘Delikado talagang mabigyan ng titulong colonel si Teng kahit reservist lang kasi pwede na nitong mabigyan ng ‘semblance of legitimacy’ ang pag-alaga niya ng mga pekeng armed reservist kahit sa totoo ay goons ang mga ito ng kanyang pamilya,” pagbibigay-diin ni Toto, idinagdag na, “kung may Ampatuan noon ay heto.. may Teng Mangudadatu ngayon.”
Sinasabing ang appointment ni Teng bilang army colonel reserve ay ibinasura sa isang panel deliberation ng CA, kung saan ang dating TESDA chief ay tinanggihan dahil sa non-compliance at non-appearance sa mga proceedings sa kabila ng mga imbitasyon na dumalo.
Ipinaliwanag nina panel head at Camiguin Representative Jurdin Jesus Romualdo na inisnab ni Teng ang proceedings ng apat na beses, na grounds para ibasura ang kanyang appointment, ayon sa Section 24 ng CA Rules.
